The Scandi Project: Explorations in Norwegian Vernacular

Overview

After an extended stay in Sweden and Norway, I began a year-long project dedicated to the collection of artifacts and images collected in my travels. With a vast assortment of photographs, images and collected design ephemera, I began designing a set of symbols and icons that would eventually become building blocks for hundreds of patterns and prints. Different fabrication techniques are now being used to realize these designs. Outcomes involve RISO and inkjet printing, laser cutting, textile printing that at will be used for home apparel beginning with prints, table linens and placemats.
